The Young Authors' Conference is hosted by School District No. 73. Participating intermediate and secondary students attend engaging workshops facilitated by published authors and develop their writing skills.

Following a virtual launch in February, the in-person conference will be on April 28. See details below.

Each school has a contact who can provide more information.

April 28, 2023
The Young Authors’ Conference brings together committed young writers in School District No. 73 to work with professional authors. 2023 marks the 44th anniversary of this popular event.

To inspire interest, on February 14th the Young Authors' Conference will be launched with several online workshops SD73 students may attend with their whole class, supervised by their teacher.

On April 28, SD73 students in Grades 4 through 12 may be eligible to attend in-person workshops at Thompson Rivers University. Manuscripts will be collected from these students and considered for recognition and the Marg van Dusen Award. Space is limited and this in-person event is subject to change.

See the Conference tab for more details about the day. See the Manuscripts tab for composition criteria. See the Authors tab in March for this year's authors and their workshop descriptions.
